National Waterproofing Systems is a Leader in Total Moisture Control Solutions.
There are many sources, other than seepage or water issues, that can contribute to the excessive moisture problems we so often see present in the basement environment.
In providing for our customers a completely dry home, the battle does not end with superior waterproofing, that is only the beginning.
In sticking to our philosophy of utlizing the most effective and highest quality materials, Humidex is the solution for excess humidity and poor air quality. This Innovative ventilation unit provides a healthier home environment by improving the air quality and expelling moist air that nurtures molds and creates condensation.
These unique units solve the century old problem of excess moisture by utilizing controlled and targeted ventilation as opposed to a conventional dehumidifier which removes moisture particles from the air by condensation and then recirculates the same stale air back into the room.
Humidex provides homeowners with year-round moisture control and mold & mildew prevention that is safe, cost- effective and maintenance-free -- with no buckets of water to empty or filters to clean. The system monitors the indoor environment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for non-stop, humidity control (even when the homeowner is away for long periods of time). A quiet powerful fan draws in moisture, toxins and pollutants while safely expelling them to the outdoors.

Poor Indoor Air Quality
If your home has a stale, musty odor you may have a condition known as Sick Home Syndrome.
This occurs in homes with excess moisture and inadequate ventilation. These factors can cause toxins, pollutants and gases to accumulate and nurture mold and dust mites, making you and your family sick. The unpleasant basement or crawl space odors are a warning sign of an unhealthy indoor environment that will affect your health and moisture saturation that can cause costly structural damage.
Sick Home symptoms develop because the house literally can't breathe. Unless they have special mechanical means of ventilation, homes that are designed and constructed to minimize the amount of outdoor air that can leak in and out, may have higher pollutant levels than other homes. High temperature and humidity levels can also increase concentrations of some pollutants.
As a result, homes can get congested with internal pollutants and wreak havoc on both home and homeowner. The air in many homes contains harmful pollutants that are invisible, odorless and not readily detected. These substances can cause health problems such as irritated eyes and nose, headaches, dizziness, tiredness, infections and respiratory diseases.
Say goodbye to Sick Home Syndrome after the installation of this proven moisture control and ventilation system. We provide a healthier home environment by improving indoor air quality through moisture control, ventilation and a complete home air exchange of harmful contaminants. Unlike a dehumidifier, the unit has dual capacity to control and reduce moisture and expel the polluted, stagnant air that causes basement odor and mold growth.
Superior to cumbersome and costly dehumidifiers, these units are an energy efficient, maintenance free, patented ventilation unit that solves the problems of dangerous mold spores and basement odors, by naturally transforming the area where the moisture concentration and air stagnation are the worst, into a healthy and dry environment.
Pollutants that contribute to Sick Home Syndrome:
Chemical – Many common household items release toxic and volatile substances that are absorbed into moist, stagnant air, such as building materials, home furnishings, wood finishes, detergents and cleansers.
Biological – Serious health problems can occur from inhaling the residue of living organisms trapped in common household moisture, such as pollen, fungi, insects, and animal wastes.
Gases – Your appliances can emit potentially deadly gases which will accumulate, undetected, in moist static air, such as carbon dioxide, radon, formaldehyde, and natural gas.
Most indoor air contaminants are not detected by the senses. When you can see mold or smell musty odors then you can be sure that not only is moisture dangerously accumulating but the contaminants in your house are not being expelled as well.
These advanced units effectively expel all types of contaminants and pollutants in the entire house and replenishes it with fresher and healthier air. The air exchange is within the guidelines of the EPA and other health authorities to maintain a healthy home. Air purifiers may only be able to filter certain contaminants and some utilize ozone or other chemicals. Many air purifiers aren’t equipped with a ventilation system that can draw in the pollutants from a large area. The system effectively provides an average of 6-10 natural healthy air exchanges per day, without ozone, chemicals, or filters.
Advanced Moisture Control Technology vs. Conventional Dehumidifiers
Consumers have primarily utilized dehumidifiers as a means of lowering indoor moisture levels. The fact remains that dehumidifiers are extremely costly to run, require daily maintenance, do not address the issue of ventilation and air exchange, recycle the same stale air again and again, and scariest of all, they can overheat and cause a fire. In fact according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, at least 1.5 million dehumidifiers were recalled in 2002 for this reason alone.
This proven moisture control system beats standard dehumidifiers on every level. Not only are they 90% less expensive to run, you get the added benefit of a continuous air exchange for improved air quality, and the reduction of risks associated with moisture and mold.
• Even on high, a unit uses only 38 watts.
• The average cost is only $2 per month in electricity versus an average of $36 for a dehumidifier
• One unit saves $400 a year over just one dehumidifier .
• With our 10-year warranty that's a savings of over $4,000.
Financially smart, health conscious homeowners who choose to have a moisture control ventilation unit over a conventional dehumidifier will dramatically improve their living conditions while protecting the structural integrity and value of their property. If you have moisture problems, your top priority is to expel it. A conventional basement dehumidifier just won't do it.

These units are designed for homes with basements of varying sizes. The Standard Model is perfect for smaller open area basements, and the Heavy Duty Model is engineered for larger rooms with multiple partitions. The expandable height allows flexibility when choosing the perfect spot for installation. Both units have powerful, quiet fans that move significant amounts of air with barely any expense of energy or cost. Compact and discrete, these units are designed to blend in with any decor.

Crawl spaces are a major source of moisture infiltration that permeates up into living areas, emits odors and saturates structures. The crawl space environment is conducive to mold growth and infestation. Foundation vents are inadequate sources of ventilation and do not mechanically expel moisture to keep the area dry and free of crawl space odors. In certain climates and seasons the introduction of hot humid air into a cold crawl environment can create crawl space moisture problems. This moisture control and ventilation unit is designed for crawl spaces or homes without basements. Unlike a conventional crawl space dehumidifier , it will reduce the humidity and musty odors in a crawl space with controlled ventilation in these problematic areas. Because it removes humidity, it will also stop wood from rotting which will go toward eliminating costly repairs.
